FabMentor

Mentor Graphics partners with Jazz Semiconductor to offer state-of-the-art
AMS Technology Design Kits

Mentor is proud of its partnership with Jazz to offer analog/mixed-signal (AMS) design kits which contain comprehensive and proven sets of building blocks at the device level, enabling semiconductor companies and electronic systems manufacturers to jump-start their design cycles. Jazz's foundry process, combined with Mentor's AMS IC Flow, greatly reduces time-to-market and ensures manufacturing success of analog, RF and mixed-signal ICs, as well as systems on chips (SoCs).

Jazz/Mentor TDKs not only offer the necessary design building blocks, they capture the essence of a tightly integrated set of Mentor tools. This provides a complete end-to-end solution for design capture (schematic or netlist), functional verification, physical layout (floorplanning, placement and routing), physical verification (DRC and LVS), parasitic extraction and post-layout verification (parasitic back-annotation to the schematic, and simulation).

Mentor IC Flow

Key benefits of the Jazz/Mentor TDK, available at no additional cost to customers:

Ensures manufacturing success
Speeds the setup of complete schematic and layout design environments
Reduces costly rework cycles due to DRC/LVS errors with correct-by-construction
device generators

Eliminates expensive mistakes due to inaccurate simulation models

Jazz/Mentor Graphic TDK offerings

SBC35 is a mature, low-power, cost-effective 0.35-micron SiGe solution for both networking and wireless applications. Designers have the flexibility of using any combination of three bipolar (NPN) transistors, each of which provides a different optimization for power and speed. With a peak Ft of 62GHz, it is a clear choice for innovative, high-performance applications. SBC35 comes standard with three bipolar (NPN) transistor types, 3.3 volt CMOS, deep trench isolation, lateral PNP transistors, MIM and MIS capacitors, high-performance varactors, poly and nwell resistors, and high-Q inductors. SBC35 options include a triple-well, three or four layers of metal, and a thick top-metal.

What will I receive?

The customer is provided with a self-extracting tar file containing:
Design Architect-IC Symbols with predefined properties for Eldo simulation and SDL & LVS
Userware to customize the library palettes listing the available components
Userware, Process Definition File (PDF), layout and device generators as required for each component
Open Source Code on all components of the design kit, providing customers with the flexibility to further extend or customize the kit
Cell Library includes analog or digital logic cells upon application; please contact Jazz Semiconductor for release details
Documentation
• Release_notes:
Unique requirements for the specific design kit and revision history, documenting which specific Eldo models and DRC/LVS files were used to validate the design kit
• Installation_Guide:
Brief description of design kit contents and installation procedure
• Library_Specification.pdf:
List of components included in the design kit describing the menu name and associated model names and properties
• Users_Guide.pdf:
User's guide and tutorial

NOTE: The symbols created were based on the defined subckts and models for Eldo. The design kits are for Mixed-Signal/Analog/RF designs and typically contain MOS devices, resistors, capacitors, NPNs, diodes, varactors (RF) and inductors (RF). Some may contain cell libraries of analog or digital cells. Please contact Jazz for release details.
