VETERAN TECHNOLOGY CFO NAMED TO JAZZ SEMICONDUCTOR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

R. Douglas Norby Joins Independent Semiconductor Foundry Team


NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., June 8, 2004
-- Jazz Semiconductor, an independent semiconductor wafer foundry that focuses primarily on specialty process technologies for the manufacture of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor devices, has announced technology industry veteran R. Douglas Norby as the newest member of its board of directors.

Norby has served in the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer for several technology companies including his current position at Tessera Technologies, a developer of semiconductor packaging and technology services, Zambeel, Inc., a data storage systems company and Novalux, Inc., an optical device company. He also served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of LSI LogicCorporation, a public semiconductor company.

Norby has held other executive management positions with Mentor Graphics Corporation and several years with Syntex Corporation. He has served on the boards of Lucasfilm, Ltd., an entertainment company where he was chief operating officer and Recordati, S.p.a., an Italian pharmaceutical company.

Norby currently serves on the boards of LSI Logic Corporation, a public semiconductor company; Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a public biotechnology company; ChipPAC, Inc., a public semiconductor assembly and test company; and LSI Logic Storage Systems, Inc., a private data storage systems company. Norby also previously served as a regent at Santa Clara University and currently serves as a member of the board of trustees for the World Affairs Council of Northern California.

Norby received a B.A. in economics from Harvard University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
