JAZZ SEMICONDUCTOR ACHIEVES ISO9001:2000 CERTIFICATION
Certification Attainment Denotes Integration of a Customer-Focused
Approach in Internal Processes
NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., Jan. 16, 2003 - Jazz Semiconductor,
a leading, high-performance radio frequency (RF) and mixed-signal
silicon wafer foundry today announced it was awarded the ISO9001:2000
certification qualification, the industry’s current global
quality standard developed by the International Organization for
Standardization based in Geneva, Switzerland.
The company achieved the quality management ISO9001:2000 certification
in six months. The certification encompasses semiconductor applications,
including design of wafer fabrication processes, the development
of design tools and methodology, the fabrication of silicon wafers,
and wafer test operations. Attainment of the certification indicates
Jazz has incorporated a customer-focused process approach into its
environment.
"Jazz is committed to being a leader in the mixed signal and
RF foundry market,” said Shu Li, chief executive officer of
Jazz Semiconductor. “The achievement of ISO9001 certification
verifies that Jazz has the infrastructure in place to provide excellent
quality, reliability and service to its customers."
Jazz is presently pursuing ISO14001 certification by establishing
an internal environmental management system designed to help manage
company activities that impact the environment.
